Mangaluru: Kukkundur Resident Critical after being Bitten by Snake Caught by Him

Mangaluru: A resident of Kukkundur near Karkala is lying in a critical state from the effects of snake-bite.

A snake had sneaked into the house of Mubeen near Gokul compound in Kukkundur on Saturday night. The family members informed a neighbour, Venkatesh (62), who immediately volunteered to catch it.

He managed to catch it but while trying to shove it into a bag to take it away he was stung by it. He could not take enough care because he was reportedly under the influence of alcohol.

He did not realized the bite first. But when others found his hand bleeding, he was rushed to the government hospital in Karkala.

Soon his condition began deteriorating and was immediately taken to Government Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru.
