Injury marks had been found on his person and the police had suspected to be a case of murder. The CCTV footage from the nearby locations supported the suspicion as it showed three persons assaulting him with hands and stones.

The Bunder police had requested the media to publicize the news with photograph. This website had published the news the same day.

He has been identified as Jayananda Amanna (50) aka Jaya, of Jeppu Bappal. He worked as a security guard at different places and never used to go home regularly. He used to sleep on the verandas of houses or bus stands in the nights.
