Mangaluru: Man without Platform Ticket Assaults Station Master at Suratkal

Mangaluru: A person who avoided buying a platform ticket at the Suratkal railway station on the outskirts assaulted the station master when questioned about it on Thursday morning.

The man had arrived at the platform when the Matsyagandha Express chugged in. When the railway ticket checking personnel demanded of him to show his ticket, he began an argument with them.

Station master Raghesh, who came to the spot to enquire was assaulted by the Soon thereafter, he is said to have fled the spot in a vehicle with his companions.

Others around took the station master to a hospital for treatment. A case has been registered at the Suratkal police station. A late report said that the assailant was subsequently arrested.
