Mangaluru: MP Kateel Appeals for Flights to Delhi and Pune from City

Mangaluru: Lok Sabha member from Dakshina Kannada Nalin Kumar Kateel has written to Union minister of state for culture and tourism Dr Mahesh Sharma to facilitate introduction of flights from Mangaluru to Delhi via Bengaluru and also direct flights to Pune.

The city is at top notch in growth in the state and thousands of visitors from the country and abroad are attracted here because of its tourist, art, culture and historical interest. On account of industrial growth, hundreds of entrepreneurs keep visiting the city every day..

Yet there has been no direct flight to the national capital as of now.. Travellers have the compulsion of taking connections at Mumbai or Bengaluru. It is estimated that there are always about 150 to 170 fliers to these destinations.

Since there is also a steady rise in the number of tourists, new services on these route would benefit a large number of people, Kateel has said.
