Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel to lead Jatha from Mangaluru to Yetthinahole on Oct 10

Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Pratap Simha Nayak held a press meet at the BJP office here on October 8.

Addressing the mediapersons Pratap Simha Nayak said that the Congress government has implemented the Yettinahole river diversion project which is an attempt to dry up Yettinahole. If the project will continue the people in the district will face severe water scarcity.

He further said that the government has kept the people of DK in the dark while implementing the project and spent crores of Rupees. The BJP under the leadership of MP Nalin Kumar will march from Mangaluru to Yettinahole on October 10 to 13. The March will be flagged off at 9:30 am from Brahma Baidarkala Garadi Kankanady on October 10.

Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the rally will be held on October 10, to stop the Yettinahole project immediately. The government should provide complete information on the Yettinahole project. A public talk will be held in Mangaluru with the experts, scientists and the political leaders to know about the pros and cons of Yettinahole project. The source of funds and the electricity used for the project. There are allegations on the tender process of Yettinahole project, which should be investigated. The government should clarify about the water availability from the project.

He also urged the people of the district to join the jatha on October 10 and make it a success. Monappa Bhandary and others were also present.
