Mangaluru: New Bridge at Bajpe to be Thrown Open to Traffic by August 15

Mangaluru: A bridge is being constructed in Bajpe between town and old airport road. Currently traffic is being diverted through the police station-Mura-petrol pump road.
Minister Abhayachandra Jain told mediapersons in Bajpe on Monday that the bridge would be ready for use on or before August 15 this year. The officials concerned and the contractors have been given strict instructions that expediting the work should not affect the quality of construction. Once the bridge is thrown open for public use, the Mura road currently used as an alternative route would also be restored and repaired.
The civil aviation authorities, who hold the jurisdiction over the Mura road had already given their clearance for its restoration, he said. The new bridge has already been built with larger specifications to make way for the widening of the Maravoor-Bajpe in the near future, he added.
