Mangaluru: NSS Special Camp Inaugurated at DK ZPM Higher Primary School

Mangaluru: The National Service Scheme Camp organized by NSS Unit of Dr. M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy, Vidyanagar was held in the premises of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Model Higher Primary School, Panjimogaru here, on December 23.

The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Rama Krishna Rao, DHO (District Health officer). Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rama Krishna said, “Serving mankind is serving God”. He emphasized on the need of cleanliness in school children for healthy living and to give the society a strong message regarding the harmful effects of tobacco.

Trustee of Dr. M V Shetty Memorial Trust, Dr Ranjit Shetty emphasized on the need of maintaining cleanliness and health awareness in the day-to-day life and also said that, we as the citizens of India should give primary importance to clean our environment. Headmistress of DK ZPM Higher Primary School – Jayalakshmi also spoke on the occasion.

Suzeena, a student at Dr. M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy, gave the welcome note and Neekshitha P K delivered the vote of thanks.

Senate Member of RGUHS Prof UT Ifthikar Ali; NSS Officer Dr Mohammad Suhail; BOS Member of RGUHS, Dr Sarath C; Assistant NSS Officer, Dr Padmacharan Swain; Dr Reshma and Dr Busheera Banu of Dr. M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy were also present on this occasion.

The camp will conclude on December 31. Mayor Jacintha Alfred will be the chief guest for the closing ceremony. The week long camp will include Health and Socio Economic survey, Health and Eye check up, Shramadaana, Physiotherapy, Speech and Hearing and Yoga awareness camp, Industrial visits and Sports and cultural events.
