Mangaluru: PG Medico from Kerala Assaulted and Looted by Gang at Kuttar

Mangaluru: A gang of four persons is reported to have assaulted a medico hailing from Kerala at Kuttar on the outskirts on Monday night.

Dr Tittu George Zacharia, pursuing post-graduate medical studies in Deralakatte, had gone to dine at Sagar Bar and Restaurant. A group of four persons, speaking in Malayalam, made friends with him. On the way out, they offered him a lift in their bike around 9-15 pm.

They took him to the rear side of the Kanachur campus, snatched his mobile phone, abused him and began assaulting him. They also robbed him of his 18-gm gold chain and Rs 1,200 in cash which he had on him, besides a wallet containing his ATM card, hospital ID, copy of the voter’s ID and other documents.

Thereafter, they hit his head with stones. In spite of injuries Dr Tittu managed to escape and got himself treated at the KSHEMA hospital and from there he has filed a complaint to the Ullal police.
