Mangaluru: Placement Cell and Job Drive Inaugurated at Besant Women’s College

Mangaluru: A placement cell was inaugurated on 8 June 2015 by the Department of P.G. Studies in commerce of Besant College at the M.Com Auditorium.

Inaugurating Forum and placement drive, Manel Annappa Nayak, Vice President of Women’s National Education Society said’ “Besant college is the first one to open a P.G. centre for M.Com degree among the colleges of the city. Now it is going one step ahead by creating a placement cell, realizing the need of college’s intervention in finding a suitable job for the degree holders.
The responsibility of the college does not cease with imparting education; it must direct the students to find the job and also invite the companies to the campus for this”.

Talking to the media Preethi N Alva, M.Com Final student said “I am very happy and relieved that the college is doing its best to find placements for us. I appreciate the concern without which it would have been difficult for us to find a job in this competitive market. The placement cell has good contracts with companies”.

Mufeena U, Student M.Com Final, said “the placement helps students to concentrate on scoring good marks without worrying about the placements. It was much needed for us”.

Five companies will be interviewing about 50 students of M.Com degree during the placement drive.

College Correspondent Devananda Pai; Shyam Sundar Kamath, Secretary WNES; Dr Sudha K, Principal and Dr Praveen Kumar K.C., Dean were present on the dais during the inauguration.

Santhosh Prabhu, Lecturer welcomed and Sangeetha, student delivered the vote of thanks.
