Mangaluru: ‘Playing Politics in Mourners’ Houses is Improper’ – U T Khader

Mangaluru: Speaking to mediapersons in the city on Sunday, state minister for health and family welfare U T Khader took objection to Union law minister D V Sadananda Gowda’s statement that a faction belonging to chief minister Siddaramaiah was responsible for the recent disturbances.

Gowda, while on a recent visit to the house of Harish Poojary, who had been murdered, was speaking to the mediapersons on the sidelines when he blamed the Congress party’s factionalism for the murder.

Khader said that he had great respect for senior leaders like Sadananda Gowda. But when Gowda was aware that Harish had been murdered by persons belonging to outfits associated with his own party, it was improper on his part to issue such a statement from the house of mourners.

Khader also said that it was unbecoming of the stature of a Union minister like Gowda to say that the disturbances during Tipu Jayanti and later on were caused by a pro-Siddaramaiah faction in order to bring a bad name to Dr G Parameshwar who had just taken over as the home minister.

He also said that it was improper to play politics from the houses of mourners. He said that whoever was responsible for the murders would be strictly dealt with.
