Mangaluru: Poster of Peaceful Co-existence Convention to be Held on Jan 30 Released

Mangaluru: ‘SahabaaLve Saagara’, a national convention of like-minded thinkers and organizations towards promotion of peaceful existence among all castes and communities, is scheduled to be held in the town hall here on Saturday, January 30.

The event is being organized under the aegis of Karnataka Komu Sauharda Vedike. The formal release of invitations and its official poster was held in front of the deputy commissioner’s office on Monday, Jan 26.

Author and former academic Chandrakala Nandavara released the poster. Speaking on the occasion, she said that India which at one time was known for its varied cultures and multiple languages was being converted into an arena for communal conflicts.

She further said that when a number of inhuman and uncultured incidents take place in public, such an atmosphere had been created that people even did not dare to come out of their houses. An ambience of peaceful co-existence needed to be created in the country, she said.

Sajida Momeen, vice president of the reception committee, released the invitation. KKSV district president Suresh Bhat Bakrabail, district secretary Ismat Pajeer, reception committee general secretary Ummer U H, organizing secretaries Gulabi Bilimale and Shabbir Ahmed, members Prof Bhoomigowda, Iqbal, Rahmat Mansoor, Kabir, Vithal Bhandary Harekala, Lydia D’Cunha, Praveen Shetty and many others were present on the occasion.
