Mangaluru: Progress at Standstill – BJP to Hold Protest in Front of MCC Premises on June 22

Mangaluru: The local unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has planned to hold a protest in front of the city corporation regarding total stoppage of developmental works in the city.

Party leader Monappa Bhandary announced this at a media meet on Friday.

Alleging that the administration at the MCC was in a total state of coma, he listed the cases of failure like the town hall restoration having been delayed with the public having no alternative venue.

The seating arrangement has been dismantled without making immediate replacement, he complained.

Besides, when commissioner Hephsiba was transferred, no replacement has been announced. No preparation for the monsoons has been made, like the clearing of drainages, he added.

He also urged the state government to immediately identify and sanction 150 acres of land to accommodate a Rs 1,000-crore plastic polymer park proposed to be set up near Mangaluru. This had been announced by Union minister H N Anant Kumar earlier this week.

City south unit president Ravishankar Mijar and others were present at the meet.
