Mangaluru: Rain Recedes in District – Work in Rice Fields Gains Momentum

Mangaluru: Rainfall in the district has receded over the last two days. Earlier on, the force and volume of rain gave an impression that the situation would remain the same for some days.

But it has proved to be erratic. Many people are worried about the likely scarcity of water during the coming year because of insufficient rains.

But owners of rice fields and agriculturists feel that they got a break to resume work which had been held back because of the rains.

Fields were seen buzzing with activity like transplantation of saplings.
