Mangaluru: Rashtra Gaurava Samrakshana Parishath Gearing Up for Various Events

Mangaluru: “To commemorate the 475th birth anniversary of Maharana Prathap Simha, 200th birth anniversary of Commander in chief of war of Indian Independence of 1857 Veer Tatya Tope, 150th birth anniversary of founder of Punjab National Bank, veteran freedom fighter, Lion of Punjab, Nationalist Lala Lajpat Rai and birth centenary year of freedom fighter Rani Maa Gaidinliu, Rashtra Gaurava Samrakshana Parishath (RGSP) will be organizing the following special commemoration functions with the financial support of Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, New Delhi” said TN Ramakrishna-President and Convener of the Parishath during a press meet held at Mangalore Press Club. Shivananda Prabhu-Member, Advisory Board was also on the dais during the meet.

– Special lectures in 501 schools and few universities across the state of Karnataka and few important cities of the country and exhibitions of the portraits of revolutionary freedom fighters written on white cloth by RGSP Vice president G J Mehandale

– Five seminars at Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Hubli or Belgaum, Gulbarga and Davanagere with different themes on the life and achievements of Lala Lajpat Rai and the theme selected for Mangaluru seminar is Lala Lajpat Rai’s contributions to Banking, Insurance, Trade and Business of the country.

– An International seminar at New York with a theme Lala Lajpat Rai in overseas countries with a specific focus on his 6 years stay at America and his contributions for Indian independence movement from abroad.

All the above special commemoration functions are being organized with the support of Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, New Delhi and RGSP is confident of reaching to at least 300000 students, over 7500 teachers/lecturers and over 10000 public directly and over a crore of general public through the active coverage from the media through these programmes.

Ramakrishna further said, “RGSP is planning to invite the senator of New York city and the mayor of New York City for the seminar at New York and Lala Lajpat Rai’s great grand son is expected to participate in the New York seminar. It is pertinent to note here that Central govt had accepted the requests made by RGSP for the special commemorations of the 475th birth anniversary of Maharana Prathap Simha, 200th birth anniversary of Commander in chief of war of Indian Independence of 1857 Veer Tatya Tope, 150th birth anniversary of founder of Punjab National Bank, veteran freedom fighter, Lion of Punjab, Nationalist Lala Lajpat Rai and constituted a NATIONAL IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE under the chairmanship of Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance, HRD & Culture ministers are the ex officio members of the above committees. RGSP president T N Ramakrishna is the only one non government member to be part of all the 4 National Implementation Committee”.

“RGSP also takes pride in the fact that it had published a unique patriotic calendar of 2014 dedicated to the sacred and respectful memory of Tatya Tope and that of the calendar of the year 2015 for the sacred memory of Lala Lajpat Rai. RGSP is also planning to come with a special souvenir to commemorate the 475th birth anniversary of Maharana Prathap Simha. RGSP welcomes volunteers to actively work with us on a continuous basis” added Ramakrishna.
