Mangaluru: Sales Vehicle Waylaid near Natekal, Robbed of Cash in Lakhs

Mangaluru: Three unidentified persons waylaid a pickup vehicle engaged in shop-to-shop supply of cigarettes and other consumer items at Hayat Nagar between Natekal and Talapadi on Wednesday evening. They robbed the three occupants of a large amount of cash and cheques, besides taking away their mobile phones.

Mohammed Sadiq Ganjimath has a weekly routine of supplying consumer goods to different shops on a certain route, commonly known as ‘line sale’. Every Wednesday, he, accompanied by Ibrahima and Abdulrahman of Tumbe, would visit shops on Konaje and Mudipu routes, supply goods and collect outstanding amounts, finally reaching Natekal.

People who were aware of their routine are thought to have executed the act. The trio arrived in an Alto car. The total amount looted is said to be Rs 6 lakh.
