Mangaluru: Seeliya Simmith Wins 2 Gold and Silver Medals Each in State-level Skating Championship

Mangaluru: Seeliya Simmith, ace skater from the city, took part in the state-level skating championship held in the Force One skating rink at Chennammanakere in Bengaluru from Oct 29 to Nov 1.

Representing DK district, Seeliya excelled in road and rink races in 300 metres, 500 metres and 20 km road race. She won two gold and two silver medals in these categories.

She has thus qualified to take part in the national-level championship to be held in December.

Seeliya is the daughter of P A Muhammed Katipalla and Asma Muhammed couple from Pandeshwar in the city. She is being coached by well-known city-based trainer Mahesh Kumar.
