Mangaluru: Moti Mahal College of Hotel Management organized a one day seminar on “Food safety and Hygiene Awareness” on 27 February 2016 at the College auditorium, Laxmi Memorial College of Hotel Management.
The Programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr T Jayaprakash, Director A J Institute of Management. Shyam Prasad Executive Director Hotel Moti Mahal was the Guest of Honour. Dr T Jayaprakash addressed the gathering and said that, we must follow healthy habits like cleaning the hands frequently at the work place which will decrease the possibility of food poisoning and other diseases.
Shyam Prasad insisted on care to be taken while cooking food in the Kitchen he stressed on Washing of utensils and cutting boards with soap and warm water, and dry thoroughly, before handling different sorts of foods. This is particularly important when dealing with raw meats and vegetables. It is also important to store the raw materials in correct temperature to avoid food contamination.
The Resource person was Priya Narayan Puthan, Chief Consultant at Dhyeya Food Safety Training & Consultancy Aurangabad also Centre Head for High field Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC), UK approved Centre Dhyeya FSTC, Aurangabad.
