Mangaluru: Senior Woman in Bajjodi Home Robbed of Gold Worth Rs 60,000 in Broad Daylight

Mangaluru: Philomena Tauro (79), staying alone in her house in Bajjodi, lost a gold chain to an intruder in broad daylight on Tuesday.

A well-built stranger is said to have suddenly barged into the house around noon, snatched the chain and fled immediately, according to a complaint filed at the Kankanady rural police station in Maroli.

The chain weighed three sovereign and was of value Rs 60,000. The police have cautioned senior citizens against wearing expensive gold while being or moving around alone.

The family details of the senior woman were not immediately available. This should also serve a caution to the descendants of senior persons against allowing them to stay alone without protection, they said.
