Mangaluru: Shree Devi Institute of Technology to hold ‘Shree Devi Sambhram – 16’ on February 23 and 24

Mangaluru: Shree Devi Institute of Technology held a press meet at the Press Club here, on February 17.

Addressing the mediapersons, Principal Dilip Kumar K said, “Shree Devi Institute of Technology, a unit of Shree Devi Education Trust, Mangaluru will be organizing ‘Shree Devi Sambhram 16’, a National Level Technical and Cultural Fest for the undergraduate students in association with Echleon’16 and Medha’16 on 23rd and 24th of February 2016 at SDIT Campus, Kenjar.”


He said that the Sambhram will provide a platform for students across the country to showcase their technical expertise and cultural talents. Along with the Sambhram, SDIT will host Echelon ’16, a National Level Management Fest for the UG and PG students of business administration and Medha’16, a National Level Technical Fest.

State Minister for Health and Family Welfare, U T Khader has consented to be the Chief Guest for the Inaugural Ceremony of Sambhram ’16. Principal of Bearys Institute of Technology, Dr N Rana Pratap Reddy will be the Guest of Honour. The Inaugural Ceremony will be presided by A Sadananda Shetty, Chairman of SDET. Vice-Chairman, Nidhish S Shetty; Secretary, Maina S Shetty and Trustee, Priyanka Shetty of Shree Devi Education Trust will be present on the occasion.

Sambhram’16 will feature a plethora of events, both technical and cultural. The technical events are scheduled on February 23 which will include events like paper presentation, quiz competitions, programming, Robowar, etc. Cultural events like dance, mad-ads, anthakshari, photography contest, etc will be held on February 24. Echelon`16 will host a galaxy of events aimed at boosting the management skills inherent in today’s youth. “With a spectrum of Management and Cultural events Echelon’16 provides a platform for the best brains to interact and nurture their ideas and transform them into reality,” he added.

He further said, “Medha’16, a National Level Technical Fest provides a platform for the students of various colleges to showcase their talents, creativity and compete with the best. On February 23 events like programming and debugging, technical dumb charades, tech-art, IT quiz, web design, circuit debugging, MATLAB programming, RC racing, gadget gurus, assembly of parts, RC flying, gliders, water rocket, estimation and costing, mind tickler, Auto CAD drawing will be organized by the different departments of engineering. Management fest Echelon’16 will be a host to events like ice breaker, best manager, HR, finance and marketing events, business quiz, stress interview for both UG and PG students of management. Source code,, Pirates of the Caribbean, Captain America, Transcendence and The Social Network will be some of the events which will be held under Medha’16 organized by the Dept. of MCA. Cultural events which include eastern and western dance, face painting, treasure hunt, solo singing, cooking without fire, mime, tattoo design, corporate fashion show etc. will be held on the 24th of February. Around Rs 6 Iakh will be distributed as prize money.”

Overall Championship and Runner’s Up trophies will be given in both UG and PG categories. Around 2500 students from nearly 100 institutions all over India are expected to be a part of Sambhram’16. Those with an interest for lighter activities have plenty of ways to spend their time as well, with gaming and other informal events running through the day. Special attractions include stunts by Team Zero Gravity, Mangalore’s No. 1 bike stunt performers. Live Concert by Agam, one of the best bands of South India comprising of performers from Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore will create an ambience with their music that will touch your soul.
