Mangaluru: Joyson Noel Sequeira (21), a resident of Niddel Padil, died after a fuel tanker knocked him down at the Padil junction on Sunday noon.
An electrician by profession he was returning from a shop in Padil and proceeding towards home.
He was severely injured in the incident and was rushed to a hospital. But his life could not be saved. Speeding and rash driving by the driver of the tanker, which was on its way to Mangaluru for being loaded, was blamed to have caused the mishap.
The deceased is survived by mother and two sisters. Informed sources said that he was the sole breadwinner of the family.
A case has been registered at the rural police station.
