Mangaluru: Teacher Accused of Sexually Harassing Student, Threatening Headmistress

Mangaluru: Mohan D Rai (43), a school-teacher serving in a school in Bajal Pakkaladka , has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on charges of sexual harassment to a 15-year-old girl student of the same school.

He had allegedly been sending obscene messages through mobile, Facebook and WhatsApp. Besides, he is said to have lured her into joining him while going to shopping malls, ice-cream parlours, movie-houses etc. He had sexually harassed her during those visits.

The girl happened to share the story of her agony with her close friends, which brought the matter to the attention of the headmistress of the school.

The HM called the student and got her counselled in privacy. Based on the students’ statements, the teacher was suspended from service. Enraged by this, Rai is said to have threatened to kill her (HM) by knocking her down with a vehicle.

Cases under POCSO and threat to life have been registered in the rural police station. In the meantime, Rai is said to be absconding.

  1. Mohan Rai needs treatment by psychologist. He appears to be frustrated with life. He should be provided with s** toys.
