Mangaluru: Theft Attempt at Cluster of Shops in Maravoor and Gandhinagar near Kavoor

Mangaluru: The number of thefts seems to be on the rise as thieves appear to be taking advantage of the rains.

When the owners of a group of shops located withing the Kavoor police limits arrived after the weekend on Sunday to open for business, at least five of them had signs of theft attempt on their premises.

No loss has been reported. But there were attempts at three shops in Gandhinagar and a shop each in Maravoor and Shantinagar, according to the police.

They have requested the business establishments and house-owners to take extra precautions during the rainy season, when the sound made by thieves cannot be heard beyond a certain distance.
