Mangaluru: Theft of Cash and Valuables Worth Rs 4.45 Lakh from Kottara Chowki House

Mangaluru: Thieves broke into a house in Dwaraka Nagar near Kottara Chowki around the weekend and took away cash and valuables aggregating to Rs 4.45 lakh.

B Parashuram, the owner, had locked the house on Saturday and had gone with his family to attend a function held at a relative’s house. On Sunday, one of his neighbours observed that the backdoor of the house was open and informed Parashuram.

He returned home and noticed that a big theft had taken place. The rear door was found broken open. After gaining access into the house, the miscreants appear to have gone upstairs and broken open a cupboard in a room. Gold ornaments weighing 132 gms, Rs 85,000 in cash and silverware weighing 1.60 kg have been taken away.

A case has been registered by the Urwa police.
