Mangaluru: Truck Parked at NMPT Moves in Reverse Mode, Falls into Sea

Mangaluru: A coal-laden truck parked at the New Mangalore port rolled off after it moved in reverse mode by itself and rolled into the sea around Friday noon.

The driver had reportedly parked it and gone to the washroom for a while. Possibly he had not secured the hand-brake. The entire load of coal, valued at Rs 1 lakh, is said to have slipped into the sea.

A mechanical crane was drafted and the truck was pulled out later.
