Mangaluru: Two Child Labourers Rescued by Childline from Kadri

Mangaluru: Two female child labourers were rescued by the members of Childline fromKadri, Mallikatte here on October 7.

On October 7, childline officials received a call about the employment of two under aged girls at a house. The officials immediately reached the spot along with the members of the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU). They found two girls aged 12 and 13 working as house maids.

The owner of the house who is around 80 years old lives alone with these two children. Her only daughter got married and is staying at her husband’s house.

Both the girls hail from Chikkamagaluru. The 12-year-old is studying in 6th standard in the government model school, Mallikatte and works as a maid.

Both the girls were produced before the Child Welfare Committee. They will be kept under the protection of the CWC until their parents come to Mangaluru.
