Mangaluru: Two Persons Feared Dead in River Phalguni

Mangaluru: Two persons were drowned in River Palguni, near Vamanjoor here on June 23.

The drowned persons have been identified as Ramesh (29), a resident of Neermarga and Tony (36) from Tarigudde.

According to sources, Ramesh along with Deepak and Tony went to the river Phaluguni to spend some time. Ramesh and Tony got down to the river to have a dip. Deepak was sitting on the river bank While both were swimming. After swimming for sometime both came out of the water. Later they again jumped into the river but this time a strong current dragged them away.

It is learnt that Tony and Ramesh were working for a catering house. The Fire Brigade and Life guards reached the spot and tried to find both of them. Until evening they were unable to find them. The search was called off due to poor visibility and will continue in the early hours of June 24.
