Mangaluru: UCA to Hand Over House Key to Harekala Hajabba during Christmas Souharda

Mangaluru: The United Christian Association held a press meet at the Press Club here, on December 24.

Addressing the mediapersons, vice president of UCA, Francis D’Costa said that theUCA will be organizing Christmas Souharda programme on December 26, at the play ground, Silver Gate, Kulshekar at 3:00 pm. “We have been celebrating this programme from the past many years and this year, we have planned to hold it in a unique way by handing over the new house key to Harekala Hajabba.

He further said that the programme will be graced by Esha Vittaldas Swamiji fromSandeepani Math Kemaru, parish priest of Permannur Church Fr J B Saldanha and President of Ullal Juma Masjid Al-Haj U.S Hamza. The three religious heads will speak on the occasion.

He also said that UCA members have built a house at the cost of Rs 15 lakh to ‘Akshara Santa’ (The saint of letters) Harekala Hajabba and another house, built at the cost of Rs 5.5 lakh, to Patricia from Permannur. The keys will be handed over to them on the occasion.

After the stage programme, a Christmas procession will be held at 5 pm. The procession will pass through Kulshekar – Kadri – Kankanady – Bejai and will culminate back in Kulshekar.

UCA president Alban Menezes, treasurer Joe Rego, Maurice D’Sa Shanthipura and Benedict were also present.
