Mangaluru / Udupi: Two ganja-peddlers were caught while in possession of ganja near the Gandhi maidan in Karnad near Mulki on Wednesday.

Mohammed Anwar (29) of Karnad and Dilip (38) of Kilpadi were found travelling in an autorickshaw. Ganja weighing 160 gms and the vehicle, said to be of value of Rs 63,000 were seized from them by the Mulki police.

Puttur: D Mary and her ten-month-old grandson Nitin Arnold were injured when a bike hit them in Krishnanagar while they were standing by the side of the road.

A case has been filed against the rider, Giriyappa Gowda, in the traffic police station.

Karkala: Two bike-riders were injured when an autorickshaw collided with their vehicle at Nichar in Belmannu village in the district. Madhukar Poojary and Rakesh of Nandalike are the injured.

Speeding by the autorickshaw driver has been blamed for the mishap. A case has been registered in the rural police station.

Manipal: Krishna Murty Bhat, a resident of Kunjibettu, was knocked down by a bike near the Manipal bus stand, as he was walking by the side of the main road.

He was seriously injured in the head and has been admitted to a private hospital here. A case has been registered in the Manipal station.
