Mangaluru: Use of Plastic National Flags on I-Day and Other Occasions Banned

Mangaluru: Deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim has reiterated that the use of plastic national flags on Independence Day and other occasions is prohibited.

He was speaking at a meeting convened to make preparations for the forthcoming I-Day celebrations. The function will be held on Nehru maidan where the district minister-in-charge will hoist the national flag at 9 am. A parade will be held by the police, the NCC and the Seva Dal. The minister will deliver his I-Day message on the occasion.

Attendance by all government employees is compulsory. The public have also been requested to attend in large numbers. Cultural programmes will be held in the Gorakshaknath hall on Kadri hills.
