Mangaluru: VHP’s Prant Gorakshak Pramukh, Kateel Dinesh Pai held a press meet at the office premises, Kodialbail here on September 9.

Addressing the mediapersons, Dinesh Pai said that illegal cow slaughter and trafficking is rampant in the district. “We have continuously informed the police about illegal cow slaughtering activities but no action has been taken against those who are actively involved in these acts. Earlier, when our activists informed the police, they used to take interest to nab the culprits but after Home Minister K J George came to Mangaluru and met the police officers, they have stopped responding to our calls. The police are under pressure of the Home Minister and hesitant to raid illegal cow slaughter houses. The police and the government are indirectly supporting cow slaughter and the VHP strongly condemns this,” he said.

He further said that if illegal slaughter and trafficking of cows will not be stopped by the authorities, the members of VHP will stop it “at any cost”. “We are ready to sacrifice our lives to safeguard cows. The government and the district administration is directly responsible for any consequences in this regard.”

Recalling the attacks on churches, Dinesh said that when the hands of a wooden statue were broken, VHP youth were arrested and kept behind bars for a year. But in Karkala, the legs of 5 cows were chopped and loaded in a Maruti car and no one was punished. “When churches were attacked under section 295A, our youth were arrested.” Section 295A indicates any deliberate and malicious act, intended to outrage religious feelings or any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs. Whoever, with deliberate and malicious intention of outraging the religious feelings of any class of citizens of India, by words, either spoken or written, or by signs or by visible representations or otherwise, insults or attempts to insult the religion or the religious beliefs of that class, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both. “But when the people played with the sentiments of Hindu people by chopping the legs of cows, why is the police or the district administration not taking any action?” he questioned.

To curb illegal cow slaughtering, a committee called Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has been formed with the district officer as the president and the SP as one of the members of the committee. “Why is the DO hesitant to stop illegal cow slaughter? The SPCA should be strengthened and cows should be protected. If the DO will fail to protect cows, in the coming days we will take all the measures to file a case against the DO,” he said.

When asked about the Yettinahole project, Dinesh Pai said, “We are trying to protect the cows first because our cows have been slaughtered illegally. We do not have time to take up any other issues until we settle the illegal cow slaughter issue. We are not against the slaughtering of buffaloes but cows should not be slaughtered.”

When asked why the VHP cannot pressurize their own government in the center to ban beef in the entire country, he replied, “We are not against exporting beef since buffaloes, bullocks, etc. are slaughtered to export beef. We are against the slaughter of cows which we Hindus considered as holy. We will not allow cows to be slaughtered.”

VHP district president Jagadish Shenava added, “Our interest is to protect cows. So far, we have not decided to protest against the Yettinahole project.”

VHP district secretary Gopal Kuthar, Pradeep Pumpwell and Umesh Jappinamogeru were also present.

  1. “Dinesh said that when the hands of a wooden statue were broken, VHP youth were arrested and kept behind bars for a year. But in Karkala, the legs of 5 cows were chopped and loaded in a Maruti car and no one was punished” – What is the connection here, I don’t get it ????

India is a secular and democratic country and the government cannot tell its citizens to eat or refrain from eating a cow, a pig. or anything else. If the concern is about illegal slaughter houses and treatment to animals, the government should make slaughter houses legal. Then enact laws/rules for transportation, and the proper and most ethical treatment to animals and enforce them. But by banning the slaughter of cows, it will automatically give rise to the unethical transportation, and illegal slaughter houses WILL emerge.

Talking of ethical treatment of animals, a few decades ago across India the cow was the beasts of burden made to draw huge over weight carts and ploughs but I did not hear anyone complain? I have seen cows beaten in public when they did not move fast enough? The cow is also mistreated as a calf, by depriving her of food (milk), as most of the milk is sold for cash. And lastly, what happens when the cow gets old? It is sold to the butcher for cash, and then the butcher is told he cannot kill it? Is that how you treat Go-Mata ????

So first ban the selling of cows, enact laws for the ethical treatment of ALL animals and monitor the slaughter of all animals – PROBLEM SOLVED !!!!

Lastly, this is an international forum, when you have a meeting inviting the press, please keep the image and respect of mother India. Wear decent clothes, the venue looks like a washroom.

  2. Jay’s post is a good example of how confused the ‘naalige chapala’ crowd is!! Is he for banning the cow slaughter OR legalizing it OR ….? Is he for ethical treatment of animals OR animal cruelty? It’s hard to tell. He seems to be blaming everyone except the ones who are engaged in illegal cow trafficking. (I can see why as he and illegal cow traffickers share a common hatred towards sanaathana groups!!) Also, his comments on ‘clothes’ reflect his self-hating personality taught by masters. Sad but true!

Irrespective of whether you belong to ‘naalige chapala’ group or not, if you support the kind of cruel treatment these poor animals suffer in the hands of those ‘raakshasa’ people, you certainly need some medical help!!

@ Dinesha Pai, Shenava and others – You guys are not going to solve this problem as long as there is a huge demand for milk and dairy products in our society. The demand-supply model will always result in millions of ‘disposable’ cows in our society that are sold to butchers by our farming community. This model was created by one ‘Kurian’ in the name of ‘ksheera kranti’ in India. In this model, animals are purely seen as milk/meat/leather supplying sources. It has no ethical or moral values behind the model. Also, your stand on bullocks and buffaloes show that you guys are no better than those slaughtering cows!! What a depressing society!!

And in the “kamadhenu” model? Are they meant to be hung on walls – with Teak/Mahogany frames, for pure worshiping?

Man! You are missing out on your vocation – i.e., that of being a stand-up comedian! 🙂

      • It’s hard to understand the ethical/moral significance when you are taught to self-hate and blindly follow a foreign culture by your distant masters. You are simply a puppet and there is no point in blaming you for your ignorance when it is all part of a grand design by more shrewd, expansionist masters. It explains everything you do, from your silly costumes to dinka-do songs!!

  3. ORP “What a depressing society!!”

Yeah, look at the pictures some of them are right there. The world has many sick people, and we have our share of sick and wilfully ignorant.

As stated, the government MUST legalize slaughter houses, enact laws for the safe transportation and humane treatment of ALL animal. But regrettably the VHP wants special treatment for cows only? Hence, if VHP chooses to protect cows only and they are very serious about it, here is what they need to do. Start collecting moneys by setting up a multi billion dollar fund and make solid ongoing arrangements for regular cash flow, because the only revenues one could get from the old cows is the sale of Gow-Muthra.

    1. Establishing and constantly expanding the every growing demand for Gow-Shallas across India.
    2. Purchasing each and every old cow at premium price, thereby ensuring that the butcher does not get his hands on even a single cow.
    3. Provide sufficient cash flow account to take care of millions of cows daily needs of food, medicine, housing, animal hospitals and advanced health care for cows only, etc
    4. Employ and pay salaries for vets and allied staff.
    5. Cremation facilities for deceased cows.
    6. Since the leather, cosmetic, medicine and allied industries work on remnants of the cow industry you need to address alternatives to satisfy those demands.

But we don’t see any of the above happening. Instead, the cow is sold to the butcher and the cheque. So now comes in the VHP who demand that the butcher should not to kill the cow? What nonsense is this? He purchased the cow, it is his, and he could do what he pleases.

Stop shedding crocodile tears, and flexing your muscles, it is high time we put an end to this non sense.

    • Stop shedding crocodile tears, and flexing your muscles, it is high time we put an end to this non sense. – Mr. Jay to our Original Rampanna

      Mr. Jay,

In addition to the points listed out by you, the ಚಡ್ಡಿ’ಸ್ could also consider the following for the betterment of Cows:

      1. One Rank One Pension (OROP).
      2. Mid Day Meal Scheme
      3. Voting Rights
      4. Aadhar Card
      5. A compulsory Bank account for Cows – called ‘Go Dhan Yojana’ (along the lines of Jan Dhan Yojana)
      6. Health Insurance

    • Roy,

I love the way you ignore how these ‘peaceful’ guys are engaged in stealing and illegal trafficking!! Not even a word on those illegal activities!! Instead, you are acting like an apologist for those groups!!

By the way, what’s wrong in their dress? Remember – your foreign masters may have taught you many self-hating things including how to hate your own heritage and native dressing styles. It doesn’t mean anything to rest of us.

As I have already stated, I agree that this is a much larger issue with huge financial impacts on millions of people. Unless we address the side-effects of ‘ksheera kraanti’, this issue will go on! If VHP is honest about the issue, they need to address the root cause first!!

        • Pincode Pai should realize that we are commenting on this specific incidence. I was questioning Roy’s comments. However, pincode Pai is known for embarrassing himself by ignoring the real topics!! You challenge him on ‘cartoons’, he goes and hides in his single cell. He is a champion of ‘palaayana vaada’!! LOL

          • Dear “Original Pai” of USA says, “Pincode Pai should realize that we are commenting on this specific incidence.”

Sir, please do not resort to escapism instead of responding to specific the points raised by me. The points raised by me directly relates to the authors of of “govadhe nirodha andolana” on religious ground, whereas they give a gobuy to the religion and Hindu Gods and temples once they encash the religious issue and through them to the ditch or put them into cold storage, to reuse them when they go back to their rightful seats in the opposition!

COME ON, ANSWER THE QUESTIONS RAISED BY ME!

          • Have you answered my question on cartoon controversy? Don’t lecture me on escapism when you personify ‘palaayana vaada’!! show some courage and tell me if you support or oppose a ban on cartoons of a religious figure.

  4. Dear B.N.Pai

Our Original only use custom made belts only from the naturally dead cow certified by the Nagpur laboratory. To appease ‘Gora’ he use left hand to eat and right hand for cleaning.

While ‘Gora’s are adopted pure Bharatiya culture by sporting ponytails he must be having hippi cut.

He gave up Indian passport and took oath of allegiance to serve the land of Red Indians.

  6. Dear readers,

The RSS international wing VHP is only good in safe guarding ‘Cow’ which India’s daughters are still being getting rapped even after strict ‘Moral police’.

Why can’t this group protect women forced in brothels and our daughters being aborted in clinics?

I would appreciate these members to adopt a pair of unproductive cows and marry of sisters behind the doors selling their skin.

Let show the humanity by implementing themselves rather than preaching others.

    Jai hind
