Addressing the mediapersons, Ivan said, “With the election results declared, I can say that the Congress Party has tasted success in the State. But since we don’t have a clear majority, Congress may form a coalition with other secular parties to form a ruling front in the Zilla Panchayat.”

He further said, “This election was an eye-opener and we are now aware of all the lapses. We know our weak areas and can now form a clear strategy to do better in the Vidhan Sabha elections.” He said that, though the Congress Party had ruled the state for the past 2.5 years, a lot of development could not be done. This he attributed to the code of conduct being enforced time and again due to the many elections held during the term.

“Now that there are no elections for the next 2.5 years, we are free to do a lot of development without any delay. We have begun the process, as we already know 9/11 form is no longer relevant, further water supply, roads, rings roads and other infrastructure will come up. With such policies, we will show that we are better than the BJP and eliminate BJP in the next elections,” Ivan said.

When asked about the accusation laid on Ramanth Rai by Prathap Simha that Rai was just acting as an in-charge minister for Bantwal and not the entire district, Ivan said, “BJP leaders have given their opinion about our District Minister in-charge, but it is not true. It is just a baseless accusation.”

MUDA Chairman Ibrahim Kodijal, former mayor Ashraf and others were present.

  1. Mr Ivan,We know what you want. But OLD BANNERS showing You and MLA’s
does not fit Smart City. Body Building Program was finished on 13th of this Month and the Banners are still hanging. Infant Jesus feast is over in January. But the old banners are still hanging. One banner rope was loose and picture of Infant Jesus along with You, touching the dirty ground. SAD to watch.
