Mangaluru: When a Wedding Engagement Almost Got Cancelled during Bundh…

Mangaluru: A prospective couple was getting engaged to be married in a private auditorium in Thokkottu Kapikad on Friday.

Since restrictions under IPC section 144 were in force, the police were on a closing spree. They did not even spare the engagement function.

Local block Congress president Ishwar Ullal tried to reason out with the police that it was a function which had been planned and organized and that it was a peaceful gathering of family members and friends. Besides, on account of the shutdown, the turnout of the guests too appeared to be far less than expected.
