Mangaluru: Woman Loses Gold Worth Rs 1.40 Lakh in Bus between Naguri and Mallikatte

Mangaluru: A woman has filed a complaint with the Kadri police regarding loss of gold ornaments worth Rs 1.40 lakh from her vanity bag in a bus.

Babita, a resident of Naguri, was travelling in an intracity bus to Mallikatta. When she reached the destination, she came to know that a set of jewellery weighing 60 gms was missing from the bag.

Professional thieves, women in most likelihood, appear to be regularly travelling in buses and keeping an eye on passengers and their valuables. Most buses are jam-packed during peak hours. Miscreants could easily take advantage of this situation.

Passengers have been cautioned to keep a watch on their bags which they carry while travelling.
