Mangaluru: Year’s Maiden Flight of Haj Pilgrims from City to Al Madina on August 16

Mangaluru: The Flynas flight carrying the first batch of Haj pilgrims from this region will take off from the city’s airport on August 16.

This incidentally is a direct flight to Al Madina in Saudi Arabia and, at the same time, the very first flight taking pilgrims from India. Passengers numbering 134 are scheduled to fly at 4 pm. Advance bookings will open at the old airport complex at 10 am on August 14.

The batch will be ceremonially seen off at the old airport terminus at 10 am on Aug 16.

Ministers Ramanath Rai, U T Khader, Abhayachandra,Vinayakumar Sorake, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, legislators J R Lobo, Mohiuddin Bava and Ivan D’Souza, MUDA chairman Ibrahim Kodijal and others will be present.
