Manipal: Duo Accused of Collecting Rs 8.44 Lakh and Not Providing MBBS Seat

Manipal: Chhaya Smita Mali, daughter of Kalyani Kalita Mali of Guwahati in Assam, had been promised of an MBBS seat in a medical college here by two persons.

In spite of making two payments, Rs 2.80 lakh on August 11, 2014 and Rs 5.645 lakh on Sep 9 which aggregated to Rs 8,44,500 to Dr Ranjan Kumar and Mrinali Singh, they have allegedly failed to provide a seat to Chhaya over the past year.

Kalyani Mali has filed a complaint at the police station here over the alleged cheating by the duo by not securing a seat in spite of such huge payment.
