Manipal: Zilla Panchayat Distributes 33 Motorized Three-wheelers to Differently Abled

Manipal: The Zilla Panchyat, Udupi distributed 33 motorized three wheelers  to differently abled individuals here, on November 17.

Outgoing CEO of Zilla Panchayat, M Kanagavalli distributed the motorized three wheelers  and said, “The
motorized three wheelers have been distributed to 33 beneficiaries after medical examination. Training for the beneficiaries was held at Rudset in Bramhavar. All guidelines set by the department were followed. The tender process was followed for the purchase of motorized three wheelers.  Each
motorized three wheelers costs Rs 68,000 and temporary registration has been initiated.” She gave a call to avail services under the Rajiv Gandhi Chaitanya programme.

Zilla Panchayat president Savitha Shivanand Kotian, Udupi TP president Sunitha Nayak, Karkala TP president Vijaya Poojary, Kundapur TP president Bhaskar Billava, deputy director of Women’s and Child department Gracy Gonsalves, Niranjan Bhat and others were present.

  1. This is very Good Move!
    Also, I suggest that government should make it compulsory to build car parking, lifts, toilets, reserved seating in public transport, access for wheel chairs in all public places etc for handicapped and blind people as per international standards. Looks like our ministers are roaming so many foreign countries and they fail to notice how these things are implemented in foreign countries.
