Married Man Arrested as Woman Alleges She was Misled

Subrahmanya: The case of a national-level volleyball umpire’s elopement with a young woman living in the neighbourhood in Yenekal near here took a new twist on Sunday.

After reappearing with Mohit Jenukodi in the police station on Saturday, the woman had said that she would live with him for life. Both the families were summoned by the police on Sunday.

The woman made a U-turn saying that when she was going out on work on Mar 20, Mohit had tricked her into joining him in his car. She was taken around to different pilgrimage centres. She alleged that he had sexually abused her.

The police recorded her fresh statement and filed a case against Mohit. He was arrested and produced before a magistrate in Sullia on Sunday night.
