Mathura violence: Rahul Gandhi condoles death of policemen, others

New Delhi, June 3 (IANS) Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday condoled the death of police officers and others killed in the Mathura violence, and said the incident stands as a “reminder” of the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.

“Deepest condolences to the family members of police officers and others killed in the violence in Mathura,” the Congress Vice President tweeted.

Through his official twitter handle, Office of RG, Gandhi said: “Hope the government ensures that peace in Mathura is restored immediately and the guilty are punished.”

“Unabated violence is a stark reminder of the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.
