Meat Balls – Quick n Easy

This is a quick and easy recipe – useful when you have unexpected guests or when you are fed up of cooking the same thing over and again.  Stock frozen chicken and beef meatballs in your freezer at all times, you never know when the unexpected guest walks in.

Ingredients:


2 Pkts Frozen Chicken Meat Balls
8  Medium Onions
3? Pc of Ginger
1  Pod of Garlic
1  Chilly
5  Medium Tomatoes
2  Cups coconut milk (made from instant coconut milk powder)
2  Tablespoons bafat powder (more if you like it pungent)
Fresh coriander leaves
Half teaspoon garam masala powder
(For Garam masala – grind in dry grinder 1 tablespoon cardamom seeds, 2 inch cinnamon, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon cloves, 1 teaspoon black pepper corns, ? of a nutmeg ? use only half teaspoon of this-rest store in airtight container for later use)

Chop finely onions, garlic, ginger, green chilly, tomatoes and coriander leaves.


Add oil to a non-stick vessel and shallow fry the meatballs till brown.  Remove and keep aside.


Fry onions till pale then add ginger, garlic, green chilly and tomatoes.  Add Bafat powder and stir then add the meatballs and fry for sometime.  Add water and let it cook for two-three minutes till thick.  Add coriander leaves and stir.  Add salt to taste.  Lastly add the coconut milk and simmer on slow fire till you a left with a thickish gravy.  Sprinkle the Garam Masala (half teaspoon only)  and stir.  Remove in a serving dish and garnish with coriander leaves.


Serve hot with Naan or Parota.
