Midfielder Fabregas worried over Chelsea’s dismal form

London, Nov 16 (IANS) Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has revealed he is having sleepless nights because of the dismal run of form that his football club is having in the English Premier League (EPL).

The defending champions are currently 16th on the league table with just 11 points from 12 games this season.

“Yes (it keeps me awake at night) when things don’t go right, football is my life. It is everything to me. My family keep me happy sometimes, but when football does not go well, my life is not happy. I try to fix it and try to put it right,” Fabregas was quoted as saying by express.co.uk.

“We are used to always being at the top. This season is being f*****. The results have not done justice to what we do on the pitch,” he said.

“We are doing things better, but we’ve had no luck. We have to start winning now.”

Chelsea host Norwich City on Saturday in their next fixture and the Spain international wants his team to have a mini-revival and be at a better position in the points table before Christmas.

“In the Champions League, we are still there and the FA Cup has not even started yet. So it is all about the League, trying to put the good performances in week-in, week-out and trying to be as high as we can around Christmas because then, it will be a very, very tough time,” he said.

Fabregas also added that he supports coach Jose Mourinho who has been under fire this season for his side’s string of poor performances.

“I cannot support him (Mourinho) even more than I am doing. I am always saying he deserves it, 100 percent. We are not playing well but that does not mean we are not in favour of the manager or something like that,” said the 28-year-old.

“We want to win for Chelsea — that is the first thing. We want the club to be at the top and someone like Mourinho who is having difficult times and the players, then you have to support each other and give our best.”
