Militant’s body recovered from Kashmir forest

Srinagar, Oct 11 (IANS) The body of a militant was recovered on Sunday from a forest area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, according to police.

He was killed in a brief gun battle in the Kupwara district’s Wudar Bala forest, police said.

“The body of a militant was recovered on Sunday from Wudar Bala forest of Handwara tehsil in Kupwara district,” a senior police officer told IANS here.

“A brief encounter had taken place in the area yesterday (Saturday) between security forces and militants.”

“A search operation is going on in the forest and the identity of the militant is being established,” he added.
