Miscreants stone police patrol car

Bengaluru: Front and rear windshields of Maruti Ertiga Hoysala patrol car were broken after three miscreants stoned the vehicle near Banashankari bus stand on Sunday night.

The front and rear windshields of the vehicle were broken in the incident. Equipment installed inside the vehicle, however, were not damaged. According to the police, the incident occurred around 11 pm.

Suresh, who was drunk, was waiting for a bus at the bus stand. Ravi and his three associates, who were also drunk, reached there and picked a fight with Suresh.

They robbed his mobile phone and absconded. Suresh called up the control room and alerted, said the police.

The patrol vehicle staff Vasudev and Sanjay, who received the information, spotted the four moving suspiciously on the Kanakapura main road. They parked the vehicle by the roadside to chase them. The cops chased and caught Ravi, while the others escaped, said the police.

Meanwhile, the three others reached the patrol car and stoned the vehicle. The police recovered the mobile phone that was stolen from Suresh and are on the lookout for the others.
