Mithali Raj to lead India during Australia tour

Mumbai, Jan 8 (IANS) Mithali Raj will lead the Indian women’s cricket team for the limited-overs series against Australia starting at the Adelaide Oval on January 26.

The Indian girls are scheduled to play three One-Day Internationals (ODI) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) from January 26.

Fast bowling all-rounder Jhulan Goswami will be the vice-captain for the side which was announced here on Friday.

India will kick-start their campaign with a T20I match in Adelaide on January 26, followed by the second T20I on January 29 (Melbourne), and third on January 31 (Sydney).

The first ODI will be played on February 2 at the Manuka Oval in Canberra, while the Blundstone Arena in Hobart will host the second and third ODIs on February 5 and 7 respectively.

ODI team: Mithali Raj (captain), Jhulan Goswamy (vice-captain), Smriti Mandhana, M.D. Thirushkamini, Harmanpreet Kaur, Veda Krishnamurthy, Shikha Pandey, Niranjana Nagarajan, Sushma Verma, Kalpana R, Ekta Bisht, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Raut, Poonam Yadav, Sneh Rana
