Moodbidri: Circle near Mijar Dedicated to Memory of Deceased Soldier Girish Poojary

Moodbidri: Girish Poojary, army man who served in Ganga Nagar in Rajasthan recently, hailed from Nandadi Urkipadavu in Mijar near here.

His friends, admirers and well-wishers got their act together to get a traffic circle set up and named after him. The initiative was taken by Nagarika Hitarakshana Vedike.

Entrepreneur Shekhar Poojary dedicated the circle for public use as ‘Hawaldar Girish Poojary Circle’.

DK Ex-Servicemen’s Association’s former joint secretary Bhagawandas Shetty, Badaga Yedapadavu gram panchayat president Lalita, vice president Harish, local leaders Chandrahas, Sudarshan Poonja, Sudhakar Poonja, Yadav Shetty, the late Girish Poojary’s brothers Umesh Poojary, Padmanabha Poojary, and son Gagan and others were present on the occasion.
