Moodbidri: Complaint against Maroor Pig-farm Owner over Environmental Pollution

Moodbidri: Lancy Serrao, a resident of Maroor near here, has submitted a complaint to the deputy commissioner of the district regarding a case of environmental pollution causing by the owner of a pig farm.

He has stated that a large stock of rotten food for use for the pigs has been stacked by John Rego, who owns the piggery, on a government plot next to his house.

Serrao has also said that proper safeguards had not been put in place to prevent the stink from spreading around. This has caused pollution in the whole region, besides inconvenience and health hazards to the neighbours, adds he.
