Mulayam as PM and Rahul his deputy: Akhilesh’s formula for alliance with Cong

New Delhi (PTI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today suggested that an alliance with Congress is possible in an arrangement where Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav is the Prime Minister and Rahul Gandhi his Deputy.

Akhilesh made the comments in the course of a conversation at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit here in the presence of the Congress vice president. However, Rahul refused to comment when asked to respond.

The UP Chief Minister was replying to a question on whether he was ready to extend his “good” personal relationship with Gandhi to a political level with the Congress.

“You are asking me because I am a Samajwadi (socialist) and you also say that I get rebuked by my father (Mulayam). I also want that Netaji’s dreams are fulfilled and that I work for him. He becomes the Prime Minister and he (pointing at Rahul) Deputy Prime Minister. I am in agreement with this and will make an alliance now,” if it is found acceptable, Akhilesh said, smiling.

He, however, sidestepped a question on whether an alliance with its rival BSP, like the one in Bihar where JD(U) and RJD came together, is possible in UP for the 2017 Assembly polls.

“Her (Mayawati) choice is that stone made elephant statues come up. So how is that possible? I have already told you my formula,” was Akhilesh’s response, referring to his conditions for a possible alliance with Congress.

Earlier, he categorically said, “there is no talk of any coalition at this point. It’s better if we don’t talk of it now.”

The 42-year-old chief minister of India’s most populous state asserted that any relationship with the BJP or any of its associate organisations was not possible “because of the kind of divisions they produce and the language they use.”

  1. Uttar Pradesh and Bihaar = This is where democracies go to die!! Absolute trash!-Atheist Mr.Original

Gujarat Model(Godhra) + Madhya Pradesh(Vyapam Model)+ Maharashtra(Beef Ban)= Death of Indian democracy and constitutional rights.

    Jai Hind

  2. Mulayan Singh not a trust worthy, That he proved skipping away from Grand Alliance at the advice of BJP. In UP Congress can ally with BSP and score 55+ seats in next General election. Congress got mental & physical strength by Gujarat poll victory.
I can predict 200+ seats for Congress alone and Grand alliance Total 350+ and BJP 100+ in 2019.
Nitish Kumar is the best choice for PM if Grand Alliance wins the race

    • Pandit Prabhakar – “I can predict 200+ seats for Congress alone and Grand alliance Total 350+ and BJP 100+ in 2019.”

Your prediction seems to be correct, qualitatively. However, it is too early to quantify now. A lot of things would happen in the meanwhile.

  3. Why don’t you include Lallu, his two sons, wife Rabri and daughter along with Mulayam and Rahul and knife the Indian democracy with the Central Government consisting of illiterates mostly from Bimaru States like Bihar and UP. With your socialistic ideology and secular beliefs, morons ruling the destiny of India, India will be destined to head towards economic doom and a butt of jokes around the world.

  4. Original RSS, DUPLICATE Pai – “Uttar Pradesh and Bihaar = This is where democracies go to die!! Absolute trash!!”

Killers of democracy are sermonizing. It is just like killers of Gandhiji deifying him now!

  5. Mulayam and PM????????????
do you want to take India 100 years behind? I would prefer Modi 100 times for Malayam.

one can clearly see the dearth of leaders in India. This is the effect of last 70 years of politics where we failed to instill young politicians into the main political stream. The old men who have no much of educational background have occupied important positions and they are in no mood of leaving them to younger generation except in their death. India is suffering today is because of this old mentality and education which has primitive ideas and no solutions for India’s pressing issues. India will suffer from these oldies for atleast another decade until all of them are wiped out naturally.
