Multiple-city Oscar Film Festival from February 19

New Delhi, Feb 9 (IANS) Hollywood is dealing with the Oscar mania along with the diversity row, and it’s time to let the Oscar fever seep into the nation. From Leonardo DiCaprio’s “The Revenant” to Jennifer Lawrence’s “Joy”, a multiplex theatre chain is organising The Oscar Film Festival in Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune and Mumbai from February 19.

INOX Leisure Ltd will screen the best of Oscar-nominated films in a set time slot for 14 days, read a statement.

Movies like “The Revenant” and “Spotlight” will debut in India and will be showcased at the INOX Oscar Film Festival. Other films to be screened include “Room”, “The Danish Girl” and “The Hateful Eight” amongst others.

“The Oscars represent excellence in the world of cinema and our guests will enjoy the 14 day extravaganza. We look forward to showcasing the films that have been nominated for this year’s Oscars and am sure that our guests will enjoy watching them,” said Alok Tandon, CEO of INOX Leisure.

To be hosted by Chris Rock, the 88th Academy Awards will be held on February 28 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
