Mysuru: Zebra Brought from Israel Dies of Colic – Second Death in 10 Days

Mysuru: A four-year-old zebra died in Shri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens – commonly known as the Mysuru zoo – in the city on Friday.

It reportedly suffered from colic pain. It was one of the four zebrs brought from Israel two years ago. Its partner, also brought from Israel, had died around 10 days ago.

This has brought shock and grief to the management and the staff of the zoo. The one that died on Friday is thought to have died as a result of overeating, while suffering from colic.

The carcass was cremated after a post-mortem examination, in accordance with wildlife laws.
