New Deadline to Link Aadhar and Ration Cards : Jun 15
Bengaluru: State food and civil supplies minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has announced that the last date for linking the ration card-holders with their Aadhaar cards has been extended to June 15.
Speaking to mediapersons in Vikasa Soudha on Tuesday, he said that it had been announced earlier that if the seeding (linking) was not done by May 31, the ration cards were liable to be cancelled. About 81% of the ration card-holders have done the linking.
All information received up to June 15 will be linked to the rations. Two months thereafter, ration cards not linked to the Aadhar cards would be suspended.
There is also a facility to link the mobile numbers to the ration cards. Once the process is completed, only ration cards linked to the mobile phone would be considered for issuance of ration, he said.
