New Delhi: During the Lok Sabha election campaign in 2014, prime minister Narendra Modi, who was then the chief minister of Gujarat, had addressed rallies in Uttar Pradesh.

tape56inches

Taking a dig at Samajwadi party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav at one of them, Modi had said that it was not possible for the UP leader to create another Gujarat. It needed a 56-inch, suggesting his own dimension.

Ever since, there has been a perceived size of 56-inch Modi chest. While his supporters took it as a matter of pride to talk about, his detractors used it as a butt of jokes.

The doubts are perhaps not likely to linger. The Dadasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Lucknow is scheduled to hold its graduation day on Friday. As Modi was to take part in the function, a graduation gown was to be kept ready. For this purpose, the University officials sought the chest and shoulder size of the prime minister from his office here.

The PMO had to give the correct information since any odd-sized gown would have ruined the look. They officially informed the University that the PM’s chest size was 50 inches.

As the matter was discussed in the media circles here, a keen admirer of Modi said that it was quite possible that he had a 56-inch chest at one time. Because of the heavy responsibilities of the top post and regular travel schedule within and outside the country, he might have lost weight, he tried to explain.

THE MEASUREMENT PROCLAIMED BY MODI WAS A “JUMLA’, AS ALWAYS IS THE CASE WITH EVERY THING HE SAYS!

    Dear readers,

After losing Delhi and Bihar the chest size came down 3 inch for each state. In 2016 five states will go to polls. I am sure Madhuri should not be held responsible if chest size resembles to Somalia.
